Matcha Latte Tutorial

This recipe is for an iced matcha latte.

You'll Need:
  • 4g matcha

  • 55g, 180F water

  • 285g your choice of milk

  • Ice

  • Chasen

  • Chashaku (or spoon)

  • Sifter

  • Cup

  • Optional: vessel to whisk in (we recommend a spouted chawan)

Gather all your tools and ingredients.

Dose 4g of matcha into sifter over vessel of choice.

Sift matcha into vessel of choice.

Pour 55g of 180F water over matcha.

If you do not have a temperature controlled kettle, we recommend bringing the water to a boil and lettting it sit for a few minutes to cool down. Or bring the water to a boil, then pour the water 2-3 times into another vessel to cool down. Each time you pour the water into a new vessel, the temperature drops ~10 degrees.

Whisk matcha until clumps are removed and microfoam is created (approximately 1 minute of whisking).

Pour milk into your cup of choice.

Pour whisked matcha over milk.

Serve and enjoy!
